About the final

The final is being held for the third time, and this year it takes place in Opole, Poland. It is the Norwegian Researcher Grand Prix model and the University of Agder (UiA) that have inspired the partner universities in the European university alliance FORTHEM – which comprises nine European countries – to establish their own European competition.

How it works

Over the course of two hours, PhD students from FORTHEM’s partner universities take to the stage to present their research projects in four minutes. The presentation must be clear and engaging, and is delivered to an audience and a jury attending both in person and online.

The winner is chosen through a combination of the jury’s assessment and the audience vote, ensuring that both scientific quality and communication skills are recognised.
