FORTHEM Labs
You can participate in the FORTHEM Labs to gain work experience in international and multidisciplinary expert networks.
Labs are FORTHEM’s expert networks that consist of teams of researchers, students and external partners that work together to address pressing societal challenges in Europe.
Student participation in Labs is highly encouraged. Working in the Labs can provide several benefits to you, including ECTS credit compensation, internships in other Alliance universities or their partner organisations, short-term mobility opportunities, etc. Labs provide valuable experience of working in an international and multidisciplinary setting with many nationalities and academic fields.
Entrepreneurship
FORTHEM promotes the entrepreneurial mind-set through cross-alliance training, courses and programmes.
You can choose a format that aligns with your responsibilities and interests or reach out to your local support team.

Career orientation and communication skills
FORTHEM offers a variety of workshops each semester that can support you in your general career orientation, help with your job applications or enhance soft skills as well as communication skills that you need in today’s labor market.
The workshops of all FORTHEM partner universities are coordinated by the University of Mainz and take place digitally.
