Goal
UiA aims to increase the proportion of academic staff who share knowledge with the public and participate in public discourse, especially within national forums. More staff members will be developed into recognized communicators who are frequently called upon within their fields. UiA will also contribute to enhancing the interest and confidence in scientific methods, particularly among young people.
Measures
- Develop new outstanding communicators through broad and systematic skills development that is accessible to all academic staff, including doctoral research fellows, with targeted support for communication talents

- Further develop a culture of motivation and recognition within academic environments for the public dissemination of knowledge and participation in public discourse

- Develop a new digital and physical dissemination concept targeting young people, in connection with the establishment of a science centre at Campus Kristiansand and UiA Viten. Young people in Agder and the neighbouring regions will be a priority target group

- Enhance ongoing communication support for academic staff participating in public discourse

- Review and update the profile pages of academic staff

- Explore the creation of a dedicated award for employees or academic environments that enhance UiA's national visibility and/or foster trust and engagement in science through public dissemination of knowledge

- Further develop cooperation between UiA's Natural History Museum and Botanical Garden and the Science Centre at Campus Kristiansand with a focus on knowledge dissemination and student recruitment
