"The EU's ambition is a zero-emissions society. Achieving this requires research from many different perspectives, and we will contribute with our expertise in innovation and management," says Tor Helge Aas.

He is a professor at the School of Business and Law at UiA, specialising in innovation management. The DREAM+PLAN project involves 32 doctoral research fellows, with UiA taking partial responsibility for two of them. Professor Aas will serve as supervisor for the fellows.

Sustainable businesses

"The exact topic of their doctorates hasn't been predefined. However, we've created some overarching project outlines that the candidates can choose from. All projects will focus on how businesses can transition to become more sustainable, " says Aas.

The project is co-funded by the EU through the prestigious Marie Curie programme. Candidates pursuing their doctorates through the initiative will also receive a double degree, as they must complete at least one year at a partner university. UiA collaborates with RMIT University in Melbourne, Australia.

"Exciting"

One of the requirements is that applicants must not have resided in Norway during the past year.

"This will be an exciting project to be a part of, and we'll have many opportunities to meet the other research fellows along the way. We were invited to join by RMIT University, which coordinates the project, and it's very gratifying that they see our potential," says Aas.
