Background and experience

I am a trained preschool teacher with a master’s degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Agder. I have extensive experience from working in kindergartens, which I bring into my teaching and research in my current position. In the kindergarten, I have experience with all age groups, and in recent years, my work has focused on language-stimulating play environments for multilingual children. At UiA, I teach in the kindergarten teacher education program and the master’s program in Early Childhood Education and Care. I have also been involved in ReKomp in the Lister region.

Teaching

Kindergarten teacher education and master of Early Chilhood Education and Care.

Research

My doctoral project focuses on children’s transitions within the kindergarten, from a toddler department to a department for older children. Based on an ethnographic fieldwork and interviews with kindergarten teachers, I aim to investigate both children’s active participation in transition processes and the conditions present in the kindergarten’s transition practices.
