Background and experience

My academic career commenced in 2019 as a research assistant in ancient history at the University of Bergen. Since 2022, I have pursued a Ph.D. in history at the University of Agder. Throughout this period, I have been developing a research project provisionally titled "Unveiling Rape Myths in Ancient Greek and Roman Law" (for further details, please refer to the section below). My academic journey began at the University of Athens, where I earned my bachelor's degree in law in 2004. Subsequently, I relocated to Norway, where I completed my bachelor's degrees in history at the University of Bergen in 2017 and my master's degree in Ancient History in 2019.

Areas of responsibility

I am a historian with a specialization in ancient and medieval history, concentrating on the critical issues of sexual violence and rape perpetrated against women. My current doctoral dissertation undertakes a comparative analysis of the perceptions surrounding sexual violence against women as evidenced in the legal frameworks of ancient Greece and Rome. This analysis is contextualized through the contemporary theoretical framework of "rape myths."

Teaching

As a doctoral candidate, I have instructed a variety of courses that address critical issues such as sexual violence against women in antiquity, the manifestations of racism in ancient societies, and the concept of rape culture. Additionally, my teaching portfolio includes modern historical themes, notably the French Revolution, the Napoleonic Wars, and the Restoration of Monarchy. Furthermore, I have facilitated several courses focused on academic writing, enhancing students' skills in scholarly communication.
