Background and experience

My academic background includes migration history, cultural studies, and archaeology. I have graduated with a Master`s Degree in History and Archaeology from the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy (2021) and a Bachelor`s Degree in Museology and Protection of Historical and Cultural Monuments from the Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts (2019).

I hold the Immigration History Research Center (IHRC) Grant-in-Aid Award from the University of Minnesota (2026) and the Cold War Archival Research Institute Fellowship from the Oxford Life-Writing Center – Cold War Lives, Wolfson College, University of Oxford (2025–2026).

Research

I specialize in migration history, Ukrainian nation-building, and critical heritage studies. I focus on Ukrainian immigration to the U.S. during the Cold War. My current project analyzes the construction of Ukrainian identity among post-World War II displaced persons and their descendants in the U.S., examining how it has been transformed by the Cold War’s geopolitical and ideological circumstances.

I combine migration history and heritage studies to trace the continuity of identity across urban and suburban landscapes in the U.S. Considering an interdisciplinary approach, I aim to inscribe Ukrainian studies into the global historical context.
