  This article suggests a shift towards more sustainable and digitally integrated business models and practices. This article discusses the potential benefits of using a business canvas, the Triple Bottom Line (TBL) Co-creation canvas, in planning for sustainable business growth and the role of co-creation in achieving sustainability goals, through digital transformation and collaboration. Based on a test, with students from different informatics and Information system disciplines in the CoDeAI summer school, 2024, this article concludes that the TBL Co-creation canvas is a useful tool in this matter, thus giving a proof of concept to this method. It functioned well in a social setting such as this summer school. Inter-disciplinary as in this summer school is comparable to what the context will be like in industry innovation work. Also, the authors found that the outcome of such workshops can be processed further using generative artificial intelligence (AI).

  In this article we address a gap in the business process management literature (BPM) on the capabilities needed for interacting with actors outside of the organization as drivers for process innovation. Several authors in the BPM field point to an ambidextrous approach in managing innovations that imply both revolutionary and evolutionary process changes. Others study BPM in the context of digitalization and conclude that the view of necessary capabilities for managing BPM should be updated with capabilities that fit the needs of digitalization. We base our conceptualization on these premises and analyze case examples from 29 in-depth interviews in four business clusters supported by secondary data from project documents and a survey. From this, we propose extensions to process management capabilities to address the need for managing co-creation with external actors as input to digital innovations. In our response to closing the competence gap in the BPM literature we contribute to further theorizing by conceptualizing new BPM activities related to business network co-creation as input to process innovations.

  By adopting digital technologies, SMEs can potentially improve their financial performance by increasing efficiency, reducing costs, and reaching new markets. For small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), such investments can be particularly challenging due to their limited resources and reliance on external cooperation. As a result, many successful SMEs have opted to collaborate with other companies to co-create digital assets. Digital transformation can also have social and environmental impacts, both positive and negative. By considering social and environmental impacts alongside financial performance, SMEs can identify and address potential risks and opportunities, and develop strategies that balance the three dimensions of the Triple Bottom Line. This concept refers to the idea that enterprises should not only focus on financial profits but also on social and environmental impact. However, there is limited research on this topic, and little is known about how SMEs should manage such a co-creation network. To address this gap, we have developed a conceptual model of a Triple Bottom Line co-creation canvas based on a review of the literature and real-life co-creation cases. We illustrate the use of the canvas in two business cluster cases. This canvas can be a valuable tool for SMEs looking to better understand how to approach co-creation network in their industry that takes corporate sustainability into account.

  One of the most significant recent technological developments concerns the development and implementation of ‘intelligent machines’ that draw on recent advances in artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics. However, there are growing tensions between human freedoms and machine controls. This article reports the findings of a workshop that investigated the application of the principles of human freedom throughout intelligent machine develop- ment and use. Forty IS researchers from ten different countries discussed four contemporary AI and humanity issues and the most relevant IS domain challenges. This article summarizes their experiences and opinions regarding four AI and humanity themes: Crime & conflict, Jobs, Attention, and Wellbeing. The outcomes of the workshop discussions identify three attributes of humanity that need preservation: a critique of the design and application of AI, and the intelligent machines it can create; human involvement in the loop of intelligent ma- chine decision-making processes; and the ability to interpret and explain intelligent machine decision-making processes. The article provides an agenda for future AI and humanity research

  Electronic glasses use advanced assistive technology that can improve function for persons with visual impairments. This paper presents work in progress in the SmartSight project, where existing versions of electronic glasses are adapted and tested for persons with the visual impairments; macular degeneration and retinitis pigmentosa. The project aims are to adapt and innovate electronic glasses for persons with impaired fields of vision and study the impact on the daily function and quality of life. In a pilot test of the electronic glasses, promising results were found that imply a big difference for persons with impaired vision. The outcome of the SmartSight project might change the clinical practise on treatment and rehabilitation of persons with impaired fields of vision, and on how the support services are organised.

  There is a gap in Design Science Research literature regarding context and methodologies for Evaluation. The Evaluation stage is the bridge between Design (or procurement); and Benefit management. Taking a constructive approach to the many challenges this poses; we propose a framework for e-health design science research evaluation. We also perform a systematic literature review for the use of process modelling notation in e-health; as a prerequisite for process and service co-creation and evaluation; and assess these; as they are applied in the literature; for cognitive efficiency in communication between receiver and sender.

  Generative artificial intelligence (Gen AI) can assist in the early stages of sustainable business model innovation. This article demonstrates applying Gen AI in combination with the Triple Bottom Line Co-Creation Canvas (TBLCC), which combines Triple Bottom Line and Co-creation concepts. The rationale for using the TBLCC framework is that studies indicate that consumers prefer sustainable products and services.   Dette prosjektet tar sitt utgangspunkt i et RFF-Agder kvalifiseringsprosjekt: «Samhandling mot følgene av barnefattigdom». I dette prosjektet, SAMBA-Skole, ville vi særlig fokusere på barnefattigdom og utfordringer knyttet til skolegang, med kommuner i tidligere AustAgder både som samarbeidspartnere og saksområde. Skolen er en arena for læring. I skolen skal elevene få stimulert sin nysgjerrighet, få utnyttet sitt potensiale til å tilegne seg kunnskap og ferdigheter, og ikke minst teknikker for læring. Dette er viktig for å kunne fullføre videre utdannelse, få et arbeid og sikre seg inntekt til livsopphold. Slik er skolen en viktig arena for å utjevne levekår og bidra til like muligheter. Men skolen er også en arena for å lære samfunnets normer og spilleregler og å bli inkludert. Gjennom å være del av et stort mangfold, vil skolen være en arena for sosialisering, en arena hvor en kan få venner, et nettverk og være en del av flokken. Men skolen er også en arena for å ‘se’ risikoutsatte barn, her: forstått som barn fra lavinntektsfamilier.

  Oppdraget Agderforskning fikk, har gått ut på å følgeforske Agder Living Lab-prosjektet gjennom omtrent ett år (2017). Agder Living Lab (ALL) er et samarbeidsprosjekt. Helsedirektoratet har gitt Utviklingssenteret i Aust Agder tilskudd til utvikling av en Living Lab-metodikk innenfor det velferdsteknologiske området. Hjemmetjenester og sykehjem i Grimstad kommune er tenkt å fungere som et levende testlaboratorium. Her er både sykepleiere, pasienter og pårørende med på å finne morgendagens velferdsteknologi.
