Background and experience
Eric Pettersen is a lecturer, performing musician, producer, sound engineer, and mixing engineer whose work spans multiple genres and disciplines across music, sound design, and applied music technology. He has a strong interest in the intersection between creative practice and technical craft, and how these two inform each other in both studio and live contexts. Eric has taught at University of Agder since 2022, and also teaches electronic music at Kristiansand Kulturskole (Knuden). Alongside his teaching, he has been self-employed since 2011 (Pettersen Sound), with extensive work in post-production, mixing, and live sound. Artistically, has worked with live improvised electronic music and has developed the “Single Source” live concept. He also has a traditional musical background as a vocalist and guitarist. Eric supervises both bachelor’s and master’s students, and provides individual guidance focused on creative process, critical listening, and practical production technique.
