Background and experience
I am educated Cand. Paed. from the University of Oslo, and completed my Ph.D at the same place in 2003. Furthermore, I have been a research assistant at the Norwegian Teachers' Academy in Bergen for three years and had a recruitment grant from the Research Council of Norway for three years. In 1989, I got my first temporary position at what was then Kristiansand Teacher Training College and have since been employed at the University of Agder. I have spent time abroad at The Hebrew University in Jerusalem, Pädagogisches Institut der Universität Freiburg and studied Martin Buber's philosophy with Professor Maurice Friedman, San Diego.
Areas of responsibility
I am a professor of education with a doctoral thesis on trust and trust relations in a teaching context. Areas of interest are values and ethics in educational work, professional theory, democracy, dialogue, and peace education.
