  Entrepreneurial motivation has been a key topic within entrepreneurial studies, at least since Schumpeter" classical work from the beginning of the present century (Schumpeter 191111934). Today, motivation is treated as the factor regarding what is often called the "supply side" of innovative activities a study of entrepreneurial motivation is essentially a study of the processes of entrepreneurial strivings to a success or failure (Huuskonen 1993, Kristiansen 1997). Bygrave and Hofer have defined the entrepreneurial process in the following way: "The entrepreneurial process involves all the functions, activities, and actions associated with the perceiving of opportunities and the creation of organisations to pursue them" (Bygrave & Hofer, 1991). Consequently, the entrepreneurial process consists of two sequential steps, the perceiving of opportunities, and the creation of organisations to pursue these opportunities. To be an entrepreneur, it is not enough to see an opportunity; you also have to take the necessary steps to utilise it. For me, an entrepreneurial "organisation' comprises the actual functions, activities and actions that the entrepreneur applies in order to utilise opportunities. My ambition in this presentation is to analyse the relationship between initial entrepreneurial motivation and the entrepreneurial process. My basic point of argument is that people must be motivated before they enter the ehtrepreneurial process. To see the validity of this point of argument, we may state it from a 'negative' perspective: People who are not at all motivated will probably not perceive entrepreneurial opportunities, and -- consequently - they will not create any organisation to pursue them.

  During the 60 years with international development assistance we have seen a systematic negligence of religion, faith and spirituality both in development theory, praxis and politics. This negligence can, to a substantial degree, be explained against the background of the dominant theories of modernisation which had economic conditions and growth as their main objective of study. The Norwegian discourse on aid and development is more than 50 years old. During this period every thinkable issue and theme have been raised and discussed in Norwegian policy papers on development and aid, with the exception of religion.

  For at et hvilket som helst samfunn skal utvikles, må de menneskelige ressursene tas i bruk for fullt. For veldig mange samfunn i Sør, er religion deres viktigste motivasjonsfaktor, og dermed også en av deres viktigste menneskelige ressurser. For at utviklingsbestrebelsene skal kunne gi de ønskede resultater, må vi forstå hvordan religiøse ideer, verdier og organisasjoner kan bidra til konkrete og positive utviklings-prosesser.

  Med jevne mellomrom siden 1949, har den rike verden kommet med løfter om at den vil gjøre en kraftinnsats for å forbedre (utvikle) forholdene i den fattige verdenen. Det siste løftet i denne sjangeren er FNs Tusenårsmål fra 2000. I den første fasen så den rike verden på seg selv som de som skulle gjøre denne jobben. Senere ble det vanligere å snakke om at de rike skulle bistå de fattige. Så ble det snakk om et mer jevnbyrdig utviklingssamarbeid. I den senere tiden er det blitt vanligere å framheve at de fattige landene må gjøre jobben selv, men at de rike må være med å legge forholdene til rette. Fokuset er på det globale partnerskapet for utvikling. På tross av intensjonene og de gode forsettene, ser det ut til at lite positivt har skjedd for de fattigste landene.   Noen forskere er av den formening at fattige land har svake sivile samfunn. Dette bygger på en manglende forståelse av de lokale samfunns stilling og betydning i fattige utviklingsland. I utviklings-sammenheng er det viktig å se på de tradisjonelle sivile samfunn som en del av løsningen, ikke som en del av problemet.

  Erfaringsgrunnlaget for denne artikkelen er e-læring basert på sosialkonstruktivistiske prinsipper. Den største utfordringen med e-læring er studenters og læreres manglende erfaringsbakgrunn. Sammenlignet med vanlig klasseromsundervisning, har e-læring både fordeler og ulemper. En fordel er studentenes økte deltagelse og delaktighet i studiet , en svakhet er at fordi e-læring er nettbasert, blir kommunikasjonen ofte litt enkel og grunn. Fordi denne form for e-læring krever at studentene "marsjerer i takt", er det viktig at man ikke har for høy intensitet, og at studentene til en viss grad må kunne følge sitt eget tempo.
