We explore the witch trials in Agder and how queer perspectives can open up new ways of understanding and remembering history. Photo: Colourbox

Starting with the text Queer Heresies: Witchcraft and Magic as Sites of Queer Radicality, we will discuss the intersections of queer identity, resistance, and the history of witchcraft.

Professor Camilla Mørk Røstvik will present her ongoing research on the lack of an official memorial to the victims of the witch trials in Agder. Combining historical, artistic, and interdisciplinary perspectives, the project investigates how communities remember in the absence of formal commemoration, and how alternative memorial practices can take shape.

The presentation will be followed by an open discussion on how queer perspectives and theory might contribute to this work.
