Strategy making in EU foreign policy
I have this spring been working as a research assistant on a project concerning strategy-making in EU foreign policy. EU is currently drafting their new strategy towards Central Asia, and this project has therefore looked at how the different EU institutions and member states have been involved in this process. The project focuses on agenda-setting and coordination.
My contribution to the project has been to set up, conduct and transcribe interviews of representatives from the EU institutions and permanent representations of member states in Brussels. The interview guide was made in collaboration with project leaders. Conducting the interviews and transcribing them I did on my own.
Working on this project has been very rewarding, as I specialize in European integration and are interested in learning more about EUs foreign policy. I have also grown academically by working on these interviews. I am very grateful for the opportunity to be part of this project, and highly recommend other students to apply to be part of a student research project that is relevant to their studies.
