The performances of Poem, Toccata, and Adagio from Spartacus ballet underline Kharatyan's approach to the interpretation of Khachaturian's compositions, bringing composer's specific qualities to the listener.
In Poem (1927) and Toccata (1932), the renditions are inspired by the improvisational timing of Armenian Folk musician's - Ashughs Art and Folk instrument's timbre. In Adagio from Spartacus ballet (1954) in an arrangement for piano by Villi Sargsyan, she articulates more orchestral thinking and inspiration from ballet's heroic, lyrical-dramatic characters of Spartacus and Phrygia.
