Michael Rauhut, professor ved Institutt for rytmisk musikk, har konseptualisert dokumentaren som en del av forskningsprosjektet “Images of the US in Popular Music Discourses” og fungerer som forfatter. Bundesstiftung zur Aufarbeitung der SED-Diktatur har finansiert filmen og vil publisere den på DVD for pedagogiske formål.
German public television will broadcast the 45-minute documentary film “Die Stimme Amerikas – US-Musik in der DDR” (“The Voice of America – US-music in the GDR”) on 8 November 2016 at prime time, 20:15. Michael Rauhut has conceptualized the documentary as part of his research project “Images of the US in Popular Music Discourses” and served as the author. The Bundesstiftung zur Aufarbeitung der SED-Diktatur (Federal Foundation for the Study of the Communist Dictatorship in Eastern Germany), which funded the film, will publish it as DVD for educational purposes.
