We have several exhibitions that are free to visit and open at all hours of the day. We’ve done our best to put up signage so that you’ll learn about all the things you see as you move through the botanical gardens.
Visiting the collections guided by one of our resident experts, however, brings something extra to the experience. That is likely why a tour of our outdoor rock collection with our Geologist, Tor Sigvald, is so popular. Not only are his facts solid, but he’ll also sprinkle in anecdotes and fun facts to make sure you’ll remember how gneiss is formed.
This week 15 visitors joined the tour to learn delightful stories about actinolite in quartz and marvel at the pink marble.
Our next event for those who correctly agree that rocks rock is during autumn break. We’ll welcome all kids to ask all the questions you can’t answer, about minerals, volcanoes and the formation of fossils!
