Shashank is a PhD Research Fellow in the Engineering Sciences faculty's Mechatronics department at the University of Agder, where he studies the role of early intervention and prediction of stereotypical and problem behaviour in Autistic children. With a master's degree in Control and Robotics (Centrale Nantes, France) and a bachelor's degree in Electronics and Instrumentation (Anna University, India) and as well as research internships in multinational and diverse teams.
Shashank approaches his research with well established ethical and clinical practices from a digital-health perspective. In his study, he proposes multi-modal prevention and intervention framework for improving situational awareness for autistic individuals during all phases of a meltdown preparation (just before the occurrence of problem behaviour), response (during the incident), and recuperation (after the occurrence of problem behaviour) in compliance with the ABA's (Applied Behavior Analysis) ABC (Antecedent-Behavior-Consequence) model of behaviour.
