Tidligere forskning inkluderer analyse av elektrisitetsproduksjonen fra solcelleanlegg i Norge, testing av solceller i felt, karakterisering av solcellesilisium, bruk av solceller i nullenergibygg og måling av energibruk i moderne boliger.

Prosjekter

Tilhører gruppe for energimaterialer. Pågående forskning omfatter nye metoder for produksjon av elektrisitet fra varme og teoretisk analyse av avanserte solcelletyper (multibandceller og tandemceller). Er også involvert i forskning på silisiumsolceller gjennom å være veileder eller medveileder på følgende doktorgradsprosjekter:

  • Charly Berthod, “Temperature coefficients of multicrystalline compensated silicon solar cells”: Prosjektet gikk ut på å undersøke hvordan ulike material- og celleparametre påvirker temperaturkoeffisientene til solceller laget av multikrystallinsk silisium. Charly Berthod disputerte i januar 2017.
  • Sissel Tind Søndergaard: Prosjekt som går ut på å forklare mekanismene som ligger bak funnene som ble gjort i Charly Berthods prosjekt. Her skal lignende celler studeres med metoder som gir mer informasjon. Eksempler på metoder er light beam induced current (LBIC), fotoluminescens (PL) og suns-Voc. Sissel Søndergaard startet sin stipendiatperiode i desember 2016.

Silisiumforskningen skjer i samarbeid med Elkem Solar.
