Fokus for forskningsgruppen Heifa er helse og livskvalitet hos barn og unge i et familieperspektiv.

Tematisk er våre pågående forskningsprosjekter rettet mot smerte, søvn, astma, psykososial helse, helsekompetanse, barnefattigdom og livskvalitet hos barn og ungdom. I flere av prosjektene er bruk av kombinerte metoder og teknologi (E-helse) sentralt.

Starting Right®: Godt Begynt- barn og unge i Agder

The aim of the project is to gain knowledge about quality of life (QOL) and health in children and adolescents, and to digitalize and implement evidence-based and structured decision-support concerning all children in primary child- and school health services from 6 months of age until age 16 concerning mental health, growth, development, and health-related quality of life, using validated self- and proxy reported instruments. Secondly, the aim is to provide municipal and county health authorities with an overview about the health and quality of life of their child population to underpin systematic evidence-based service improvement, and to create opportunities for longitudinal research on children´s health. www.godtbegynt.no

Quality of Life and mental health in children in Agder

The aim of the PhD project is to explore health related quality of life (HRQOL) and mental health in children and adolescents in Agder, as well as expand the knowledge about QOL measurements, use of questionnaires and interpretation of QOL data in the child and adolescent general population.

Integration of ePROMs in child health centers

The aim of the PhD project is to examine how working processes, clinical reasoning, parental experiences, and decision making in child health care are influenced by integration of electronic patient reported outcome measures (ePROM) in clinical practice.

Start Young - Quality of Life and Pain in generations

Sleep in parents of premature children

Dental health care services for children and adolescents exposed to maltreatment - a project from the Norwegian Children`s House in Kristiansand

The overall aim of this the PhD project is to investigate the association between child maltreatment and oral health related quality of life (OHRQoL). Moreover, to explore the dental treatment needs and dental follow-up of children and adolescents investigated at the Norwegian Children`s House in Kristiansand.

Fathers’ role in pediatric palliative care

The aim of the PhD project is to investigate fathers' experiences of pediatric palliative care when they have a child with a progressive condition without curative treatment options.

Learning activity for nursing students who are learning pre- and postoperative nursing

The PhD project aims to test a learning activity for undergraduate nursing students who are learning pre- and postoperative nursing. Preoperative ISBAR Web Application may provide nursing students the opportunity to practice handover in a safe environment. In this project, we will test the perceived usability of the web application and whether practicing preoperative ISBAR in a web application provide a learning outcome compared to a traditional group practicing.

LetsGo (Lifestyle and Empowerment Techniques in Survivorship of Gynecologic Oncology)

The aim of the PhD project is to explore nurses’ and patients’ experience with information and counselling on sexual health issues (study I and II) and to compare how gynecological cancer survivors report sexual health one year after end of treatment in two different groups (study III). The project is multimethod and part of the LETSGO (Lifestyle and Empowerment Techniques in Survivorship of Gynecologic Oncology) study.

Community work in Tanzania

This umbrella program with work packages aims to (i) evaluate the HAMA programs experienced by individuals and groups who are involved in the programs; (ii) map community health in Tanga; (iii) evaluate the impacts of the exchange of nurse students completing their clinical placements in different health services in Tanga.

Young data. Ungdata

This is a cross-national data collection designed to conduct surveys of adolescents between the ages of 14 and 19 at the municipality level in Norway. The Ungdata material is collected online during school hours. The questionnaire has a fixed part, which is similar in all surveys. In addition, the form contains several elective questions that municipalities can choose based on interest and need. NOVA administers the national database, which contains all conducted surveys.
