Forteller beslutningstakere verden rundt om offentlig administrasjon

- Både instituttet og Universitetet i Agder er med dette solid og tydelig plassert i dette feltet. Av de 123 forskere som har levert artikler til de seks bindene, er seks norske – og to av dem er fra UiA, sier en ikke lite stolt instituttleder Dag Ingvar Jacobsen.

Jacobsen er selv forfatter til den ene artikkelen: Public Sector Growth: Comparing Politicians’ and Administrators’ Spending Preferences. Denne inngår i bok nummer tre, som fokuserer på den politiske rollen til offentlig administrasjon.

Den andre UiA-professoren er Jarle Trondal, som sammen med kollega Morten Egeberg ved Universitetet i Oslo har skrevet artikkelen EU-level Agencies: New Executive Centre Formation or Vehicles for National Control? Denne er publisert I bok nummer fem, som setter søkelyset på byråkrati i spesielle sammenhenger, i dette tilfellet EU.

Selve referanseverket har fått navnet Public Administration, og retter seg mot både akademikere, byråkrater og politikere og andre interesserte verden over. Verket er utgitt på anerkjente Sage forlag og er redigert av på Sage redigert av professorene Guy Peters og Jon Pierre ved henholdsvis universitetene i Pittsburgh i USA, og Gøteborg i Sverige.
