I love that we are surrounded by beautiful nature and water within walking distance because that is one of the reasons I chose Norway for studying abroad.

From Denmark
My name is Cecilie, I'm 23 years old and I come from Denmark. I’m currently in my fifth semester of studying a BA in Design Culture and Economics at Southern University of Denmark in Kolding.
The main reason of choosing Norway is their beautiful nature which is very different from Denmark, and I really wanted to explore it. Also as they’re a part of Scandinavia I knew that they had a well-functioning education system, which I preferred for my time studying abroad. As Norway is a neighboring country to Denmark, I also found it very interesting to learn their language and getting connections for widening my future job opportunities.
I arrived by ferry on the expected arrival day and the pickup/greeting place was right next to it with ESN buddies ready to help me, so it was a very nice arrival. I especially enjoyed that the ESN buddies transported my luggage to my address and that I got my key right away. My first impression of the university was that it was bigger than my home university which was nice.
I am very positive about the quality of both the university, the courses and the professors, but I would appreciate there being more design relevant courses.

Yes, I have organized some self-planned trips and went on a weekend trip to do the Trolltunga hike. I visited Malaga in Spain for one week, spent a weekend in Oslo and a weekend to do the Kjeragbolten hike. Also, I’ve visited Dublin in Ireland for one week and went to Tromsø for one weekend to experience Northern Lights there.
Besides that I also went on a weekend trip to do the Preikestolen hike which was organized by ESN.
