The University has a great level of education

Tell us about you, what do you study, what are your hobbies... 

My name is Teresa and I’m 21 years old. I’m from Puerto De Vega, a small fishing village located in the north of Asturias (Spain) but l live in Oviedo where I am studying Business Administration in the University of Oviedo. My hobbies are reading, listening to music and travelling. I also love riding horses and going for a walk in the nature. 

Why did you choose Norway? 

Norway is characterized by its high level of education as well as a high quality of life, so I thought that spending one semester in this University would be a great opportunity to learn about the economy from a different point of view and also to improve my English. 

How was your arrival? What was the first impression of the University? 

The first day was a little bit chaotic; the journey, nerves, enthusiasm…so many emotions that make you feel exhausted. Once in my apartment, I had enough time to rest and the following day I went for a walk around the University. My first impression was so positive; the University of Agder has many study rooms, which is interesting if you have free time between each lecture.  Moreover, there is a big library where you can look for all the material needed for your subjects. The university also has a store for buying school material and a huge cafeteria. 

What do you think about the quality of the University and its courses? 

In my opinion, the University of Agder provides a wide range of courses for international students. It also offers an intensive course of 6 weeks to learn basics of Norwegian, which is useful. The University is well organized and structured and has a great level of education. Its courses and the material delivered by the professors are helpful. 

What do you like most in Kristiansand and why?

As of yet, my favorite place is the Odderøya Island because of the beautiful landscape of the city and its outskirt. It is impressive when everything is covered in snow.   

Have you planned any trips during your stay? Where? 

Yes, I am thinking about going to Oslo and Bergen. I would like to go to Tromsø too in order to see the northern lights but I have not planned it yet.

Me llamo Teresa y tengo 21 años. Soy de Puerto De Vega, un pequeño pueblo marinero situado en el Norte de Asturias (España), aunque resido en Oviedo donde estudio Dirección y Administración de Empresas en la Universidad de Oviedo. Mis hobbies son leer, escuchar música y viajar. También me encanta montar a caballo y dar paseos por la naturaleza. 

Why did you choose Norway?

Noruega se caracteriza por tener un alto nivel tanto educativo como de vida, por lo que pensé que cursar un semestre aquí sería una gran oportunidad para aprender sobre la economía desde un punto de vista diferente y también para mejorar mi inglés. 

How was your arrival? What was the first impression of the University? 

El primer día fue un poco caótico; el viaje, los nervios, el entusiamo… muchas emociones que te hacen sentir agotada. Una vez en mi apartamento, tuve suficiente tiempo para descansar y al día siguiente fui a dar un paseo alrededor de la universidad. Mi primera impresión fue muy positiva; la Universidad de Agder tiene muchas salas de estudio, lo cual es interesante si tienes horas muertas entre cada clase. Además, hay una biblioteca muy grande donde puedes encontrar todo el material necesario para las asignaturas. La universidad tiene también una tienda para comprar material escolar y una cafetería enorme. 

What do you think about the quality of the University and its courses? 

En mi opinión, la Universidad de Agder proporciona un gran rango de cursos para estudiantes internacionales. Además, ofrece un curso intensivo de 6 semanas para aprender los básicos del noruego, lo cual es útil. La universidad está muy bien organizada y estructurada y tiene un gran nivel de educación. Sus cursos y el material ofertado por los profesores son de gran ayuda. 

What do you like most in Kristiansand and why?

Mi sitio preferido, por el momento, es la isla de Odderøya ya que hay unas vistas muy bonitas de toda la ciudad y sus alrededores. Impresionante cuando está todo cubierto de nieve. 

Have you planned any trips during your stay? Where? 

Sí, estoy pensando en ir a Oslo y Bergen. También me gustaría ir a Tromsø para ver la aurora boreal pero todavía no lo he planeado.
