I thought everything about the arrival went really smoothly. Having the buddies meet us and take us to our dorms was very helpful.

USA
My name is Adriana Carias and I am from Omaha, Nebraska USA. I am currently doing my bachelors in International Studies and Public Administration at the University of Nebraska-Omaha. I really enjoy learning about other cultures and trying different foods. I also have a deep appreciation for the arts. I love going to museums and getting to see the different ways artist express themselves. I find it really inspiring. I personally love painting and making crafts during my free time. I also really like listening to music, going to concerts, watching movies, pretty much anything to do with the arts.
I chose Norway by chance. I had never thought about coming to Norway, until my university offered it as a potential place to study abroad. I knew I really wanted to go somewhere this semester so I figured “why not try Norway?” So far it has been an experience I never imagined.
My arrival in Norway was really good! I was super nervous when I first got to the Kristiansand airport but that quickly changed when I realised that a lot of other international students were there too. It was really easy to get to the meeting point. I thought everything about the arrival went really smoothly. Having the buddies meet us and take us to our dorms was also very helpful.
My favourite place in Kristiansand right now is the Ravnedalen Valley Park. It is such a beautiful place with great scenery. There is a mountain in the park that you can climb and once you reach the top you can see all of Kristiansand. It’s a great view of the city.
Yes, I am planning to take a trip to different parts of Northern Norway. It is my dream to see the Northern Lights so hopefully I will get the chance to see them! Besides that, I am also planning on taking trips to other countries in Europe. It is a lot cheaper and easier to travel around while I am here.
