I am very happy with my choice of courses and with my professors. The relationship between the professors and the students is very friendly and there is a very pleasant atmosphere at the lecture hall.

My name is Nikolas, I am 21 years old and I am coming from Munich, Germany. In Munich I study business in combination with chemistry at the Technichal University. Here at the University of Agder I am taking mainly marketing courses and one Norwegian language course for beginners. In my spare time I am playing tennis, I like to go to the cinema with friends or going to concerts of smaller local bands. I also love to travel and try to travel at least once a year with my friends to different places.
I chose Norway for my semester abroad because I have never been to Norway before but I heard so many positive things about the country. Of course the nature but also the Norwegian culture were things I was very interested in to explore and get to know more.
I arrived on the official arrival day by plane. I got picked up by the buddies at the bus station in Kristiansand. They drove me to my apartment and showed me everything. Since I arrived at the evening, it was really great to have people showing me the way to my apartment and where I could buy food for the first evening. The next day I had the opportunity to explore the University and I was really impressed by the modern and new buildings of the University of Agder.
I am taking three Marketing courses and one Norwegian language course for beginners. So far I am very happy with my choice of courses and with my professors. The relationship between the professors and the students is very friendly and there is a very pleasant atmosphere at the lecture hall. The professors try to complete the learning materials with examples from the practice, which makes learning easier.
One of my favorite places here in Kristiansand is the “Nupen Park”. A park next to the ocean with a beautiful view, perfect for sunny days. Another Highlight in Kristiansand is the Forest behind the University. This place is perfect for hiking and just five minutes away from the University.
During my semester abroad, I am very excited to travel around Norway. This February I am planning to go to Tromsø and hopefully see some northern lights. In the Easter break I will be flying to Lofoten with my family to discover the nature there. But of course a weekend in Oslo is also on my bucket list.
