Leo Ebert-Glang

From Germany

Tell us about you and from which University you are from.

I am 25 years old, and I live in Mannheim, Germany.  I study master in music business, and my dream is to work as an A&R with a focus on music production. I also play some instruments myself, like guitar, bass and keyboard, but while I’m here at UiA laptop will be my main instrument. I also like cooking and I’m a vegetarian.

Why did you choose Norway?

I had two options, Norway and Australia. I felt drawn to the Norwegian nature, and it seems like a good place to study.

How was your arrival? What was your first impression?

When I arrived at the airport, I was supposed to catch the bus to town, and representatives from UiA would meet me at the bus station. However when I came out of the airport, I saw the bus drive by. I turned to a couple nearby, to ask if they knew when the next bus would leave. They offered to drive me to town themselves in their Tesla. So I have a very good impression of the locals here!

What do you think about the quality of the University and its courses?

It’s a little bit early to say, but the courses seem very interesting. I’m taking a co-writing course and aesthetics workshop, which I’m really looking forward to!

What do you like most in Kristiansand and why?

I love that everything is so close, and I’m really drawn to the beautiful nature. I have been on a couples of hikes already, and like that I can see the ocean from my window.

Have you planned any trips during your stay?

I really like snowboarding, so I would love to do that while I’m here. I would also really like to go to Lofoten, Bergen and Oslo.
