Please introduce yourself

My name is Andrea Castelli, I’m 25 years old and I come from Rome, Italy. I play electronic guitar.

Why did you choose Norway?

I wanted to experience the beautiful Norwegian nature, and I thought it would be easy to integrate into Norwegian society.

When looking at universities, what stood out to you about UiA?

The studios looked very nice. I was impressed by the modern facilities. The structure of the study programme itself also appealed to me, because I understood I would get an opportunity to work on my songs.

What were your first impressions upon arrival?

I thought everything was quite different than I was used to and larger as well. I was really excited to start exploring everything!

What do you think about the course in particular?

I like that I get to focus on personal projects and on developing myself as a musician. The classes are small and we get a good follow-up from the teachers.

What do you like about Kristiansand and why?

Kristiansand is a small city and a nice place to be creative. The nature that surrounds the city inspires me.

What would you like to share about UiA to your home country?

That it has been a great experience to study here at UiA, and recommend others to come here as well.

Do you think UiA has given you any unique opportunities?

Yes, definitely. It has helped me develop my artistic side and my originality.
