What is your name?

My name is Yoon Sing Kok. But, I’m better known as Vincent.

What was your background before studying at UiA?

I have a Bachelor Degree in Flute Music Performance from the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music (YSTCM), Singapore and I was freelancing as orchestra musician, orchestra manager, orchestra librarian along with a permanent job as an administration executive at Symphony 924, the classical radio station in Singapore.

What was your first impression of the University?

I would say there’s nothing short of excitement. I had the most interesting orientation ever and I enjoyed every bit of it.

What did you like most about the master program?

Because of the nature of the subject matter, we get to participate in discourse that is constantly evolving. Hence, we get to work on new materials every day and that really stirred up my enthusiasm to learn and exhale in the program.

When did you graduate from MA Music Management?

I graduated in the year of 2017.

What was your first job after finishing your masters? Where are you working now and what is your position?

I’m working as a PhD research fellow in the Department of Popular Music at UiA and that’s my first job after my graduation too.
