Please introduce yourself.

I am a woman, daughter, mom of two incredible boys and now proudly a student at the University of Agder. I was born in Monterrey, Mexico, a city of hot weather and big mountains. 

Why did you choose Norway?

I visited Norway in 2020 just before the pandemic and fell in love with the peace you can feel just as you enter the country. The people were friendly, kind, helpful and everyone spoke English which was a relief. 

When looking at universities, what stood out about UiA?

The University prestige and recognition stood out above the rest, prompt responses in the communication and support in the international department.

What were your first impressions upon arrival?

The University is surrounded by nature and the student canteen has the best food and tacos. 

What do you think about your course in particular?

My course is quite demanding, and the lecturers are very professional and passionate about the subjects they teach. 

What do you like about Kristiansand and why?

I like that there is a lot of sunny days (so far), beach, near the mountains, very accessible to move around the city and lovely people. 

What was one thing you discovered about Norway that was unexpected?

Understanding the cultural differences and the health system. 

What would you like to share about UiA to your home country?

It is a vibrant University with highly prepared teachers, amazing facilities and excellent student environment.  

Do you think UiA has given you any unique opportunities?

Yes, it has given me the opportunity to expand my knowledge and be more prepared for the future.
