Most undergraduate programmes at the University of Agder are taught in Norwegian, and in addition to the basic admission requirements, you must document your both English and Norwegian language proficiency. Undergraduate programmes taught in Norwegian are applicable through The Norwegian Universities and Colleges Admission Service (Samordna Opptak) The majority of the site has only information in Norwegian.
Please note that the undergraduate programme in Development studies is taught in English. Prospective applicants must apply for admission by using the local online Application Web. Applicants have to meet the general admission requirements and document proficiency in the English language in order to be eligible for admission.

The University of Agder does not provide any grants or scholarships.
For EU/EEA citizens:
It is not required that you document your financial ability. However, if you are going to stay in Norway for more than three months, you must register.
For non-EU/EEA citizens:
Upload proof of funding when submitting your application. The required amount documents your financial ability, which is necessary for applying for a study permit, and will cover accommodation expenses for one year.
The amount you must provide is NOK 116 369 (the amount may be subject to change).

Admitted students must be prepared to transfer the required amount to a bank account set up by the university by mid-May. Failing to do so will result in withdrawal of the offer of enrollment at UiA.
As soon as the amount is transferred, you will receive a "statement of deposit" that must be included in the application for a study permit.

This process may take some time, so please note that you must have access to additional funds to pay for accommodation expenses for the first two months of your stay.
Entrance requirements are Higher Education Entrance Qualification for international applicants and certified language requirements in English.
Higher Education Entrance Qualification
The general basis for admission to universities and university colleges in Norway is called Higher Education Entrance Qualification. You may find what is considered university entrance qualifications from your country in the 'GSU' list. This list states the basic requirements for admission to higher education in Norway. Please download the latest version of the 'GSU' list from this website.

Please upload all documents and make sure that your appplication is complete when you apply. Incomplete applications will not be concidered. However, if you are finishing a degree or if you are taking an English language test, the final post mark date/deadline for uploading documents is 15 January.

All documents must be translated (unless in English, Norwegian or a Scandinavian language). The translation should be carried out by a government authorized or official translator. You must upload a scanned version of the original document accompanied by the translation.
It is important that you bring your original documents to Norway. The University of Agder can require to see your original documentation for the purpose of inspection when you arrive. Please see more here.
