The University of Agder makes use of an online nomination and application service for our partner universities.
To come to UiA as an exchange student, your home university must have a formal agreement for exchange studies with UiA. Check with the International Office at your university (either the central office or at your faculty/department) to see if there is an agreement with UiA and if you are eligible to go on an exchange. Your International Office can also explain what subject areas you can study as an exchange student, as defined through the particular exchange agreement in place with The University of Agder. Without an agreement in place, we can not accept your application.
Nomination process for partner institutions – step-by-step
UiA's partner institutions will receive an e-mail with instructions on how to log on to the service.

Please log in to the University of Agder online nomination service.
Username: Your username is the e-mail address which you have received in an e-mail from the University of Agder International Education Office. (If you have not received this e-mail, please contact us.)
Password: To log in the first time you must order a password from the login page. Enter your username and click on "Send password".
After logging in you will see the agreements between your institution and the University of Agder (the ones you are responsible for). Select the relevant agreement from the list and choose “Add new nomination” to nominate a student.
Add the student's information starting with the student's e-mail address. Please make sure to enter the correct data in all fields, including the following (which are filled in by default). Please do not use only captal letter when registring your students, but write the names like this example: Ola Nordmann
Please also choose the correct semester(s) for admission.
After completing the student's information, click on "Add Nomination" to save the data. After ca. 30 minutes the system will send an e-mail to the nominated student's e-mail address (with instructions on how to apply), and a copy to you. If you wish to cancel the nomination of the student, no e-mail will be sent if you cancel by clicking on the delete button (a red circle with white cross) within 30 minutes.
Please note that the student data you have entered cannot be edited once it has been saved by clicking on the "Add Nomination" button. If you have typed incorrect data, you must delete the nomination using the delete button and then click “Add New Nomination” to start the process again.
Complete steps 2 and 3 for each student your institution is nominating to the University of Agder. Once you have added a nomination, please check the list of students you have nominated, and their status.
You may log in again later to check the application status of your nominated student(s).
Student application: When you have finished the nomination, the students you have nominated will receive an e-mail from UiA confirming that they have been nominated by your institution. The students will be given further instructions for completing their application in UiA's ApplicationWeb (SøknadsWeb), including the uploading of their supporting documents.
Student application status: You can keep track of each student's status by logging on to the online nomination service any time. On the “Available agreements and admission” webpage you may see all relevant agreements and the application status of your nominated students; nominated, applied, admission granted, withdrawn etc.
Normally, all exchange students are accepted for studies at UiA. The students will receive their Letters of Acceptance around one month after the deadline for applications.

Before you can fill in your exchange application in our online ApplicationWeb ("Søknadsweb"), you must have been selected for exchange by your home institution, and nominated by your home coordinator.
It is your responsibility to upload all required documents. Please DO NOT upload any other documents than the ones we ask for.
PLEASE NOTE: All documents must be in Norwegian, English, Swedish or Danish. Documents in other languages, or incomplete applications will not be considered. The transcript/diploma must contain a description of the grading system. Master's students must upload their Bachelor's diploma or other proof that they have finished their Bachelor's Degree.
If your home institution does not issue transcripts in English, please make your own translation, and have it signed by your coordinator. Please upload the translation together with the original transcript.
Please include your name and the type of document in the title (i.e. Paul_Smith_Transcript_of_Records.pdf).
Once nominated, students will receive an e-mail with instructions on how to apply. A password for the ApplicationWeb will be sent in a separate e-mail. Use the link in the e-mail you have received to go to the ApplicationWeb. Select English language in the top menu, choose «International Applicant», and log in with your e-mail address and password.

Having chosen the relevant campus, you will be asked to apply for courses ("Choices for this alternative").
Before selecting courses, please consult our course overview, and discuss your choices with your home coordinator. Then, enter the courses you wish to take during your exchange stay at UiA. Please note that the teaching semester is written at the end of each course name. Please apply for some extra courses, in case you should experience timetable clashes or you should not be qualified for a certain course. One full semester consists of 30 Norwegian «studiepoeng», which equal 30 ECTS credits. You must register for a minimum of 20 ECTS credits. (Please note that changes to the course list may occur before the semester start.)

Normally all nominated exchange students are accepted for studies at UiA. You will receive your Letter of Acceptance around one month after the deadline for applications, together with your signed Learning Agreement (Erasmus+ students only) and instructions on how to apply for accommodation.

All exchange students are guaranteed accommodation. You can apply for accommodation after you have received your Letter of acceptance. You will receive an application code together with the Letter of acceptance.
