Located in southern Norway, the University of Agder (UiA) gives international exchange students the chance to experience:
— A quality education based on the Norwegian model
— A different style of teaching and learning that facilitates independent thinking, research and group work
— An international network - meet students from all over the world at UiA and enhance your cultural perspectives
— A new language - students can study Norwegian language courses
— Kristiansand, the most attractive city in Norway for 2018 — A well-connected region to the world and close to Europe
The way of teaching here at the University of Agder is totally different from my home University. Here there is less stress to memorise things; instead, it is your ability to find the correct information and how to be self-organised that is put to the test.
I thought everything about the arrival went really smoothly. Having the buddies meet us and take us to our dorms was very helpful.
The level of education at the University of Agder is very good, as well as the infrastructures and the quality of the campus.
The quality of the technology at UiA is very good. I find the Canvas Application very useful. Everything that we need to know is saved and updated in the system.

I’m looking forward to the rest of my time here in Kristiansand and I already can say that this semester is/was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had.
What I have experienced here has demonstrated the efforts and ambition of the University of Agder and Kristiansand to build an international city of education and talent.
Among the Nordic countries, I decided to choose Norway because it is said to be one of the happiest countries in the world.
The lecturers are very knowledgeable, passionate and enthusiastic, which makes the lectures a lot more fun. The campus is great and very well-equipped for studying and there is always someone available to help if there are problems.
I was amazed that everyone here speaks English so flawlessly! Every person I met during the first days were very welcoming, especially the people from the buddy group programme ESN. So, thank you for that!
It’s so easy to go on Erasmus in Southern Europe for Italian people, while it’s not as intuitive to choose Norway, where you can experience such different places and people, with different lifestyles.
Most courses I attended turned out to be both interesting and well conducted – the teachers are open and approachable.
I started to be interested in Norway in high school, after an assignment about eco suburbs and how Norwegian government acts on environmental issues.

I am very happy with my choice of courses and with my professors. The relationship between the professors and the students is very friendly and there is a very pleasant atmosphere at the lecture hall.
One of the reasons to come here was actually to slow down. But there is so much to do, so I cannot say I have really slowed down here. But I do not mind. I am just enjoying my time here as much as I can.

In my opinion, the University of Agder provides a wide range of courses for international students.
