The course will give an introduction to entrepreneurship. The students will learn about organisations, institutions, products, markets and target audiences within art, culture, and business. With existing businesses as a starting point, the students will get to know the day-to-day life of a founder and be inspired to start new culture-based businesses.
The course covers the following themes: Networking, customer insight, interdisciplinarity, social entrepreneurship, sources of funding, applications, project planning, project management and implementation.
The course will emphasize culture as a sustainable business and how entrepreneurship can be used in building communities.
The course is conducted through lectures, projects, seminars, group work, presentation of projects and visits from established businesses and organisations within the culture field. The students will development a business and marketing plan for a potential new business and/or applying for relevant financial or organisational support.
Expected workload is 27 hours per ECTS credit.
2-3 approved work requirements.

Individual 3-day written take-home exam. Approximately 3500 words.
