• Has broad knowledge of nursing for people with complex needs
• Has broad knowledge of the aging process and the specific needs of the elderly
• Can assess situations that may develop threatening to patients and staff, and can take measures to prevent such incidents
• Has broad knowledge of the nurse's relieving function
• Has knowledge of palliation
• Is familiar with global health challenges and nursing practice from an international perspective
• Has knowledge of the importance of cultural and linguistic backgrounds for the understanding of disease and equal services
• Has knowledge of relevant teaching methods and supervision
• Has knowledge of inclusion, equality and non-discrimination, regardless of gender, ethnicity, religion and beliefs, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression and age, so that the candidate contributes to ensuring equal services for all groups in society
• Has knowledge of the Sami status as indigenous people and about the rights of the Sami
• Is familiar with quality challenges at system and / or task level that require innovation

The teaching methods are seminars based on clinical issues in addition to lectures and self-study.
