The course gives an introduction to the historical roots of Judaism, Christianity and Humanism, focusing on historical origins and today. The course also gives a description of the development of doctrines and religious practice within Judaism and Christianity, and the ideological development of Humanism in Europe. A central question: How have Judaism, Christianity and Humanism influenced one another in relation to doctrine, ideology and practice? Central periods are Antiquity, The Age of Enlightenment and today.
For discipline students: Lectures and seminars For students in the master's programme in the teacher education: Lectures, seminars and practice The workload is estimated to ca. 270 hours.
For discipline students: Preliminary test must be passed. Further information when semester starts. For students in the master's programme in the teacher education: Practice must be passed.
Assessment methods and criteria
4-hour individual written examination. Graded assessment.
