The placement is part of the vocational component in the educational programme, which consists of pedagogy, didactics in two subjects and teaching practice. The vocational component focuses on three main areas:
The placement period consists of 30 days and takes place in an upper secondary school. The students are assigned to selected partner schools. The placement must be supervised and varied and adapted to the academic background of the individual student.
The amount of time the students spend on practical teaching should correspond to a teacher's working week. Students must be at school during core school hours and participate in the activities that are part of a teacher's scheduled day. Generally, the students will teach individually, but, if the school scheduling necessitates it, they may also student teach in pairs.
The placement must be passed in order for the student to take his/her end of term exams.
After completing the internship, the student will receive an individual written assessment report with a grade of Pass/No Pass.
The assessment is given based on the learning outcomes achieved and the given criteria for the placement period. 100% attendance is required throughout the placement.
