Be able to develop concepts, theories and understanding that underlie the increased emphasis on knowledge as a factor for development
Be able to develop an understanding of how knowledge is developed and changed and have an understanding of how organisations can work with knowledge generating processes
Be able to reflect critically both on use of theory, on practice and on the way practice is theorised
Be able to facilitate knowledge development processes in organisations and in society
Course contents
Knowledge is increasingly being highlighted as an important factor of production. We talk about knowledge enterprises, knowledge management and knowledge economy. In a knowledge-sociological perspective knowledge is seen as something that is socially created and developed. This perspective differs from a more technological perspective on knowledge and information. Furthermore, the course will look at how the principles of knowledge can form the basis for understanding the knowledge economy and knowledge-based companies and organisations.
Assessment methods and criteria
Individual submission of one term paper. Further information will be given in Canvas. Graded.
Evaluation
The person responsible for the course, in consultation with the student representative, decides the method of evaluation and whether the courses will have a midterm- or end of term evaluation, see also the Quality System, section 4.1.
