Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student will:
have detailed knowledge of the most central theories related to innovation management and entrepreneurship
be able to characterize, describe and organize innovation processes and entrepreneurial processes
be able to identify strategic innovation resources and capabilities that are relevant for businesses and start-ups
have insight into challenges related to the development of innovation strategies for established businesses and start-ups
be able to participate in strategic discussions on how to organize innovation activities in established businesses and start-ups.
Course contents
The central theme of the course is how innovative and entrepreneurial activities may be organized and managed in different contexts. The course introduces terms and theories related to entrepreneurship and innovation management, discusses different models for entrepreneurial processes and innovation processes, and discusses what internal and external resources and capabilities that are needed to succeed with different types of innovation (such as product innovation, service innovation, responsible innovation and digital innovation) and entrepreneurship. The course provides insight on how managers can work strategically with innovation and entrepreneurship.
Teaching methods
Lectures, group discussions and work with an individual paper under supervision. Further information will be provided in Canvas.The course has an expected workload of 200 hours.
Assessment methods and criteria
1 individual paper counting 100%.
Evaluation
The person responsible for the course, in consultation with the student representative, decides the method of evaluation and whether the courses will have a midterm- or end of term evaluation, see also the Quality System, section 4.1.
