Upon successful completion of this course the student should be able to demonstrate:
ability to compare project-based industries with other types of industries
ability to categorize firms in the project-based industries
ability to apply theoretical concepts to project-based businesses
Course contents
Overview of academic research on project management and project-based industries
Theoretical concepts for comparatives analysis of industries
Institutional logics and industry recipes of project-based industries
Competition in project business
Teaching methods
Concise reading package, lectures, case exercises and group discussions. Estimated workload is about 200 hours.
Examination requirements
Approved compulsory group assignments. More information in Canvas at the start of the semester.
Assessment methods and criteria
4-hour written examination with letter grades.
Due to grade requirements for state authorised auditors, a regular examination will be held both autumn and spring.
Evaluation
The person responsible for the course, in consultation with the student representative, decides the method of evaluation and whether the courses will have a midterm- or end of term evaluation, see also the Quality System, section 4.1. Information about evaluation method for the course will be posted on Canvas.
