Course contents
Course includes:
developing a personal sound and artistic expression
work with skills and consciousness around musical and scenic communication/presentation of solo and ensemble repertoire
instrumental work with a focus on technical and musical nuance
work with consciousness around quality and critical assessment of professional level solo and ensemble performances
Teaching methods
The course is conducted through individual lessons and group lessons. During the course, the student will participate in different projects and seminars. Each student will receive individual lessons on their main instrument, in addition to ensemble lessons. There will be room for flexible organisation regarding various projects. Attending the lessons is compulsory.
Expected workload for an average student is 27 hours per credit.
Examination requirements
Approved solo performance at minimum 1 concert hosted by UiA.
Approved ensemble performance at minimum 1 concert hosted by UiA.
Approved compulsory lesson attendance
Assessment methods and criteria
The student will perform a 40-45 minute recital. The recital is assessed individually.
Assessment: Pass/fail
Evaluation
The person responsible for the course, in consultation with the student representative, decides the method of evaluation and whether the courses will have a midterm- or end of term evaluation, see also the Quality System, section 4.1.
