Course contents
Course includes planning and executing practice-based projects, as well as techniques for communication and presentation. The student will develop basic skills within different modes of working with music, thus promoting musical interaction with different target audiences based on e.g. age, functional level and cultural background.The course uses perspectives on music as a part of human everyday life as a starting point, and students will work with a repertoire that reflects the versatility of today’s music and genres. The students will also work with combining music with other forms of artistic expression. The course has three sub-divisions: The field of arts, Project development and Communication.
Teaching methods
The course is conducted through supervised projects, teacher-led lessons, student presentations and practical exercises.
Expected workload for an average student is 27 hours per credit.

Assessment methods and criteria
Project of musical communication/presentation performed in groups with a shared oral presentation. Group assessment. Weighting: 40%.
One individual written reflection paper. 7 days deadline. Weighting: 60%.
Assessment: Graded A-F
Evaluation
The person responsible for the course, in consultation with the student representative, decides the method of evaluation and whether the courses will have a midterm- or end of term evaluation, see also the Quality System, section 4.1.
