Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student should:
be able to collaborate creatively with artists, songwriters, musicians and composers in studio sessions
have craftsmanship and artistic competence in music production
be able implement an artistic vision
know basic theory and concepts within the field of music production
be able to make artistic choices and assessments
Course contents
The course emphasizes music production and creative work in a sound studio applying basic theory and concepts as a music producer. In addition, emphasis is placed on developing the student's craft skills and the ability to handle artistic challenges in a creative and analytical way. Students will practice in the role of music producer through various projects with different collaborators in the studio.
Teaching methods
The teaching is conducted in groups and supervision on individual and collaborative assignments.
Parts of the teaching are compulsory. These parts are presented in Canvas at the beginning of the semester.
Expected scope of work is 27 hours per. credits.
Examination requirements
Approved attendance in compulsory classes.

Assessment methods and criteria
An individual portfolio exam consisting of two parts:
Part 1: A practical individual sound production with a minimum of 6 minutes of recorded music
Part 2: A written reflection of 500-1000 words describing the work process
Further information is provided in Canvas at the start of the semester. An overall grade is given for the portfolio.
Evaluation
The person responsible for the course, in consultation with the student representative, decides the method of evaluation and whether the courses will have a midterm- or end of term evaluation, see also the Quality System, section 4.1.
