Prerequisites and co-requisites
BIO205, ML-112 or BIO104, BIO109 or BIO110.
The course is designed to enable the students to handle and analyze blood transfusion samples, create quality-assured reports and blood products and evaluate the final results. The use of cases from clinical practice will be emphasized. The practical part of the course provides a thorough introduction to the most important techniques in blood bank work.
Important topics include quality evaluation, sources of error, use of quality controls and quality assurance.
All compulsory assignments must have obtained a Pass.
