On successful completion of this course, the student should be able to
Calculate curve, surface and volume integrals in different coordinate systems
Use parametric curves and their properties in two and three dimensions
Calculate work, circulation and flux
Use Green’s, Stokes’ and Gauss’ Theorems in calculation of multivariable integrals
Conic sections and quadratic curves, polar coordinates. Cylinders and quadratic surfaces. Parametric curves in the plane and in the space, and their properties. Change of coordinates, including cylindrical and spherical coordinates. Curve, surface and volume integrals of scalar and vector functions. Work, circulation and flux. Divergence and curl. Potential functions for conservative vector fields. Green’s, Stokes’ and Gauss’ Theorems.
