Learning outcomes
After completing this course, the student should be able to:
Understand basic economics and corporate financial topics
Analyze and perform financial and economic calculations as a basis for business decisions
Understand the holistic aspects of a firms economy, social and ethical issues, certain sustainability goals and the importance of good managerial accounting
Course contents
Cost / Income and Market theory
Cost calculations and Management accounting models
Introduction to financial accounting
Working capital and Capital budgeting
Financial mathematics and Cost of capital
Investment and profitability analysis including tax, inflation, capital structure and risk (CAPM)
Use of Excel in profitability analysis
Teaching methods
Lectures and exercises
Examination requirements
Passed compulsory assignment(s)
Assessment methods and criteria
Written examination, 4 hours. Graded assesment.
