Learning outcomes
After successful completion of the course, the student should be able to:
Analyse formal aspects of organisations, including objectives, strategy and organisation structure.
Analyse informal aspects of roganisations, including organisational culture and power relations.
Describe and explain organisational behaviour and processes with reference to motivation and performance, communication, decision-making, learning and change.
Expound central theories of leadership.
Course contents
Most professionals spend many years of their lives in organisations. This course offers a basic introduction to theories in the fields of organisation and leadership. The student obtains a good overview of the subject area and insight into the conditions for executing leadership at various levels. The analysis of organisational types and organisational processes are central to the course.
The student is equipped with a toolbox of concepts and models that are directly relevant to professional life.
Teaching methods
The course is taught through traditional lectures. There are also plans for some group work and student-centered teaching methods. The course has an estimated worload of 200 hours.

None.
Assessment methods and criteria
Individual written home assignment over approximately two weeks. Letter grade.
Evaluation
The Head of study programme, in consultation with the student representative, decides the method of evaluation and whether the courses will have a midterm- or end of term evaluation, see also the Quality System, section 4.1. Information about evaluation method for the course will be posted on Canvas.
