The course has the following focus: Training in analyzing and assessing texts from various genres and conveying these texts to the pupils. The course gives an introduction to English didactics with a variety of English fiction and prose from the English speaking world. The students will be stimulated to analyse texts and themes for youth and increase their insight into society and culture, past and present. There will be focus on adaptation of varied activities and methods. There will be focus on the role of the English teacher.
There will be focus on preparation for practice, planning and implementation of teaching followed by assessment.
There will be a variety of teaching methods in large and small groups. There will be focus on student activities like group work, oral and written assignments, as well as digital work. Mandatory There is a 70% mandatory attendance requirement in the teaching. A practice period of 20 days is included for students in the teacher education.
The workload is estimated at 400 hours.
