On successful completion of the course, the student should be able to

have knowledge about prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells and viruses
know the light microscope structure and be able to use the microscope in practice
have knowledge about to the composition and function of animal and plant cells
have knowledge about structure and function of the cell membranes and cell organelles structure and function.
have knowledge about cell communication, cell cycle, cell division, mitosis and meiosis.
describe the basic laws and mechanisms of inheritance and common pattern of inheritance and their expression in appearance and sex
Course contents
Introduction to the structure and function of prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells. The course also provides students with a basic introduction to genetics.
Teaching methods
Lectures, laboratory work, field work, lab. Lab, field and computer education is compulsory. The course has an expected scope of work of 270 hours.
Examination requirements
A satisfactory completion of the laboratory exercises and reports is required before the student is allowed to take the final examination.
Assessment methods and criteria
A 4-hour written examination under supervision. Graded assessment.
Evaluation
