Instruction in teacher training is based on profession relevant learning methods. All courses use varied learning methods which stimulate students' ability to learn from them. This occurs through the use of seminars/teaching in smaller groups, training in classroom management and communication, and by having students trained in critical reflection on professional issues and their own practice. Teaching methods are also practice-oriente,d in the sense that students will gain inspiration and training, to conduct varied and motivating lessons.
Each student must attend at least 10 concerts / artistic projects throughout the study
Teaching practice has an integrative function in teacher education. It requires collaboration between practice teachers, students and teachers. Teaching practice is equivalent to 70 working days in practice school and shall be through all three years.
After completing the three-year teacher education in music, students will qualify for educational activities in primary and secondary education and cultural / training school, in addition to other educational work related to academic and cultural activities for children, youth and adults. The education qualifies graduates for work at a high level as performing musicians, adding that this is also one of the prerequisites for being able to work as instrumental / vocal pedagogue in music schools and voluntary music. Lecturers in music must be able to work with music that experience and expression in artistic and educational context. The training helps the student establishes a critical and reflective attitude to their own practice and work with change and development in their own organization. After graduation, the student will have solid professional expertise that gives confidence in the teacher's role.
The study forms the basis for further studies in music performance and other studies in music field at Masters level. It also forms the basis for further studies on Pedagogy, Master.
