If you have foreign education or education from other higher education institutions in Norway, you may apply for recognition and credit transfer. You must be admitted as a student at UiA in order to apply.
You apply via Studentweb, select 'More' and then 'Applications' in the menu. Applications are processed in order of receipt. It is especially busy at the start of the academic year and at the beginning of the second semester, so make sure to send your application as early as possible.
In your application you must specify the education you want approved and which UiA-courses you want replaced.
Attachments and documentation
It is not necessary to provide documentation of previous studies at UiA. Courses from any other educational institutions must be documented with:
Course description
Compulsory reading list
Diploma/academic transcript (not necessary for courses which you can see under 'External results' in Studentweb)
The applicant is responsible for collecting and attaching all necessary documentation to the application. The application will not be processed until completed. The case officer can contact you via Studentweb if anything is unclear or missing. If so, you will receive an email notification. Messages from the case officer can be found as part of the application under the section Dialogue with case officer.
Answer to the application
The applicant will receive a written answer on whether the application is accepted or rejected. If the application is rejected, you will receive an explanation on the reason for rejection.
You can appeal to the decision within three weeks after receipt of the answer.
