VPN increases security and is recommended when you are travelling and are off-campus.
Some of the University electronic resources require a VPN connection, for example access to the library's electronic resources. It is recommended that you use the application (client) eduVPN.
Install eduVPN:
Download the ClickITself-service portal and run the program.
Select eduVPN in the menu and select Install.
You will receive a confirmation that your application has been installed.
Find the software on your PC and activate the connection as described below.
Connect to eduVPN:
Start the eduVPN program
Search up "University of Agder" through "Find your institute". Alternatively enter the server name "uia.eduvpn.no"
Connect to UiA-eduVPN
You will be asked to approve the connection in your browser the first time you connect. Choose «Approve Application».
eduVPN is also available from both AppStore and Google play if you need to connect from your tablet or smartphone.
Connection issues
If you do not get a valid connection while attempting to use eduVPN:
Check that you are not running other VPN-clients simultaneously.
Click on the cogwheel in the top right of the application, and choose "Prefer TCP connection".
Remember that your license is active for 14 days at the time, but will easily renew. When your license expires while eduVPN is running, you must reconnect or restart the program.
If you need assistance when trying to connect, contact UiA Help.
